The Most Gigantic Pizza in Massachusetts Is Waiting for You at Sal’s Pizza

Are you craving some pizza? A gigantic pie or an enormous slice from Sal’s Pizza is sure to fill you up.

Pizza is a food that I can never get enough of. In fact, I could probably eat a slice each day of the week and still have room for more. Deep dish, thin crust, square cut, or round, the pizza possibilities are endless. And don’t even get me started on the toppings! You don’t have to search far to find a good pizza joint around these parts, but when cravings grow strong, there is only one place to go to satisfy the call of hunger. Head to any Sal’s Pizza location for gigantic portions and outstanding flavors.

I first experienced Sal’s when I was attending an event at Boston’s TD Garden. It was a good thing that I was hungry that night, because the 18-inch super slice was almost more than I could handle. Astonished, I tried to take a selfie of myself holding the pizza, but it was just so big that I needed to keep both hands on the slice to keep from dropping it. Needless to say, that one piece of cheese pizza was more than enough to fill me up for the rest of the night.

Sal’s Pizza has been a fixture in the local area since 1990, when founder Salvatore Lupoli and his brother Nick opened their first shop in Salem, New Hampshire (originally named Just Pizza). The brothers were inspired by their grandparents, immigrants from Italy who started their own pizza stand on Revere Beach in Revere. Sal’s has become so popular that the restaurant has expanded to serve delicious pizza at over 130 venues throughout New England, and even one in Orlando, Florida. Sal's also has several stands at local sports arenas.

You may be wondering, “How big are Sal’s pizzas?”  Well, their extra-large pizzas are a whopping 19 inches in size and weigh three pounds. Each individual slice is a quarter of the pie. Now that’s a lot of pizza! If you don’t think that you can stomach all of that tasty, cheesy goodness, you can also order smaller versions at select restaurant locations. There are so many excellent specialty pizzas to choose from. Favorites include the Bacon Cheeseburger, BBQ, and Margherita Napoletana pizza. Sal’s Pizza also sells a variety of calzones, subs, salads, and yummy sides such as garlic knots and chicken wings. And if you aren't full after all that food, you can also order dessert.

Do you think you can eat an entire extra-large pizza from Sal’s? The good thing is that even if you don't finish, Sal's leftover pizza is still just as good the next day. To find out more about where you can sample some of these gigantic slices, please visit the Sal’s Pizza website and the Sal’s Pizza Facebook page. Sal’s also has a food truck you can book for your upcoming events.
