This Hole In The Wall Bakery In Maine Is Unlike Any Other Place You’ve Ever Tried

Katie Made Bakery in Portland, Maine, offers delightful homemade sweets and savory breakfast options in a charming, hidden location.

Maine is full of hidden spots and secret finds. Seafood shacks dot our shores and a speakeasy or two can be found around unexpected corners in our larger towns. But if we're being honest, nothing excites us like finding a hidden gem in the form of sugar. This little bakery has been delighting locals since 2000, but if you visit Portland stick to the Old Port you might miss it. There's more than meets the eye inside - check it out to see what we mean!

Since 2000, Katie Made Bakery has been a family owned and operated business.

Located on Congress Street on the way up Munjoy Hill, the brick building gives nothing away about the sweetness that exists inside.

And, oh how sweet it is!

From cupcakes to scones to cookies to cakes, if you get there early enough you'll have first pick!

We love their homemade pies.

But absolutely delight in anything blueberry flavored!

Unlike other bakeries, you don't have to feel guilty about making a morning sugar run because savory breakfast sandwiches are also on offer - homemade by Katie's sister Jenny daily.

Grab a cup of Coffee by Design with a freshly made sandwich and snag a window seat to watch the world go by.

Can't stay long? You can get just about anything to go - just be sure to order a day ahead for pies and two days ahead for cakes.

Granola? More like gra-no-problem!

Katie Made Bakery also creates beautiful cakes for weddings.

Or any other event that requires a beautiful confection.
