Basile is a small town in Acadia and Evangeline parishes with a population just under 2,000. It’s about 10 miles west of Eunice, Louisiana.

Owner Daniel Isaac Fruge (D.I.) began farming crawfish during the late 1970s.

During this time, he began crafting his unique style of boiling and seasoning of crawfish. He began selling them to locals and it became so popular he decided to open a restaurant.

D.I.’s has been a favorite for locals since it opened in 1986.
