The Overstuffed Sandwiches From This Georgia Deli Are the Stuff of Dreams
Come for the overstuffed sandwiches at this neighborhood deli in Atlanta, GA, but stay for the lively NY-style atmosphere. You'll love it!
There's something so timeless about a NY-style neighborhood deli. Stopping in at these local joints is always a memorable experience. I’ve visited enough delis to know that when you walk in, you’ll be greeted with friendly service (perhaps a side of “NY attitude”) and owners who know the folks in the community. Each sandwich is carefully crafted with the right combination of ingredients. If you ask me, delis transcend all food trends and, when done right, these local joints can become a lunchtime staple.
That's certainly the case with Reuben's Deli in Atlanta. It's no ordinary sandwich shop in Georgia; in fact, it's been voted as one of the top ten delis in the country and quite possibly the very best the city has to offer. Imagine overstuffed made-to-order sandwiches, served on freshly baked bread, piled high with Boar’s Head meat (if you know, you know), topped with fresh veggies, and delicious sauces. Hungry? If you're looking for a sandwich that can only be described as overstuffed and unforgettable, this neighborhood deli in Georgia is the place for you.
In my humblest opinion, I believe some universal qualities make a great deli: consistency, quality, and authenticity. You'll find all of these elements at Reuben's Deli, a New York-style deli in Atlanta. This place exudes undeniable familiarity and charm that will make you feel right at home, whether you're from the area or just stopping by for a visit.
Since 1996, the local sandwich shop has been crafting towering masterpieces using Boar’s Head and Thumann’s meats. If you're a sandwich connoisseur, you know that these two brands are top-tier deli meats, meaning you'll be getting the best-tasting made-to-order sandwich that money can buy here. The owner, Claudio Furgiuele, is dedicated to delivering "the best product available at a fair price to his customers," and he has done just that in every way.
The staff sets the tone for a one-of-a-kind experience, and you'll quickly notice there's something so fun about being at Reuben's. Naturally, most folks come here for the classic Reuben sandwich, which is served grilled on Rye bread with Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and 1000 Island dressing. When you're ready to order, in the true Reuben's style, be sure to yell it (and don't be shy either)!
At first glance, the prices may seem a bit steep. That is, until you realize just how much food you're getting for the price. The portions aren't just big; they're epic! As one reviewer shared, it's "worth every penny." With some of the sandwiches piled over four inches high, you can easily take home half to enjoy later at home or share it with a friend. But no one says you have to (and we're not judging)!
Rueben's Deli is open for breakfast, but lunch is the most popular (and busiest!) time to visit. Rest assured, though, that the wait is worth it. Pro tip: It helps to know exactly what you want to order so you don't feel like you're holding up the line. I find that when visiting any new restaurant, especially a busy deli, a little menu research beforehand can go a long way! In addition to the classic Reuben sandwich, other popular orders include the corned beef sandwich and the pastrami sandwich. But, from what we've heard, there's no bad option at this NY-style deli in Georgia.
