This Restaurant in Florida Is Located in the Most Unforgettable Setting

For many of us, the food is definitely the most important factor in what makes a restaurant great, but (for me) the atmosphere is a close second. Of course, the holy grail of dining is when you find a restaurant that has the best of both worlds - delicious eats and an unforgettable location that’s breathtakingly beautiful. Take for instance, Old Sugar Mill Pancake House, an iconic Florida hidden gem located in one of our favorite Florida state parks - De Leon Springs State Park. Let's take a look at this beautiful restaurant in Florida that will leave lasting memories.

Good morning! Are you ready to take a trip to one of our favorite breakfast spots in the state? Not only is the food here delicious, but it's also located in an unforgettable setting — a historic building in one of our awesome state parks. It's quite a beautiful restaurant in Florida.

That's right, we're talking about Old Sugar Mill Pancake House in Volusia County. After a brief closure and a name change, the restaurant is under new management and is one of the most unique places in the area. The mill was originally built in the 1800s to crush sugar cane, but the one you see today is a reconstruction from 1900. It was scheduled for destruction in 1961 when Peter Schwarze decided to restore the mill and use the building to grind flour.

This naturally led to a bakery and restaurant utilizing the fresh-ground flours, but with a unique twist. Tables were fitted with electric griddles in the middle, so guests can pour and flip their own pancakes. This griddle restaurant in Florida is certainly one of a kind! These incredibly fresh and fluffy pancakes are some of the best you will ever try. If you're not a big fan of pancakes, though, there are plenty of other options on the menu.

The best part is that after your delicious breakfast at this Florida restaurant inside a state park, you get to spend the whole day swimming in the springs and exploring the park.

The whole family can find something to enjoy here, including hiking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and the 50-minute Fountain of Youth Eco/Heritage boat tour.
