Everybody local knows the best place to get tacos in their town - at this point, Taco Tuesday is almost a state holiday. Wilmington hosted the first annual Taco Festival in the state this past July, and it was a huge success in part due to over 50 vendors bringing their best to the big city. So, out of the dozens of Taquerias in our state, who makes the best tacos in Delaware? Check out our roundup and let us know what you think.

1. El Tapatio, Wilmington

El Tapatio has been a Wilmington landmark for 20 years, and it's continually been one of the best places to get tacos in Delaware. The party atmosphere of El Tapatio will draw you in, but the amazing food is what will call you to return again and again. 1700 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809

2. Mexican Table, Hockessin

Unique tacos are kind of the "thing" at Mexican Table, where you can get duck carnitas tacos, or more traditional beef, chicken and shrimp tacos de asada. They also offer mouth-watering Alambre tacos, which are soft corn tacos with grilled beef, chicken, chorizo, bell peppers and onions;

topped with Chihuahua cheese. Um, can you say delicious?7288 Lancaster Pike

3. Papa Grande, Rehoboth Beach

Please note, Papa Grande is no longer in business.

This coastal taqueria might have the best fish tacos in the state. They're buttermilk battered and fried - absolute perfection.210 2nd St

4. Rivera Taco Express II, Bear

This tiny, tiny taco truck is hidden in a parking lot in Bear - the tiniest spot to get tacos in Delaware for sure. Don't let the size fool you, though, Rivera turns out delicious tacos in record time, and you'll be returning again and again. This is one of my favorite lunch spots in Delaware. 1969 Pulaski Hwy

Bear, DE 19702

5. El Nopal, Dover

This hidden gem in Dover is sure to become your favorite Taco spot around the Capitol region. Try the Tacos de Lingua - beef tongue tacos - and amaze your tastebuds. 627 W Division St, Dover, DE 19904

6. Tacos La Placita, Laurel

This wonder is hard to find, but it's SO worth it to go out of the way for some of the best tacos in Delaware.11290 Trussum Pond Rd Laurel, DE 19956

7. Bibi's Taqueria, Milford

This authentic taqueria in downtown Milford is a great place to get fresh tacos of all types. Whether you like tacos al pastor, tacos carne asada, or tacos carnitas, you'll find something delicious here.

8. Restaurante Mi Laurita, Georgetown

Try the tacos de tripas if you want something unusual at this Georgetown gem - they're guaranteed to make your stomach happy. This small restaurant is another contender for tiniest place to get tacos in Delaware, but again, it's soooo good. If you're ever in Georgetown and looking for a great meal, you can't go wrong at Restaurante mi Laurita.110 N Race St

9. Tacos Chabelita

Tacos are done right in Laurel, and alongside Tacos la Placita, Tacos Chabelita is certainly in good company. I think Tacos Chabelita makes the best cow head tacos in Delaware, hands down, and every time I go, I eat so many that I feel like I might explode.

10. Agave, Lewes

This tiny spot is always busy, so be prepared to wait. It's so worth it if you come armed with the knowledge that you'll probably be seated an hour after arriving, so be sure to prepare for that. There's a reason that the line is out of the door most nights, though, so you won't be disappointed. Fish tacos are amazing at Agave, so if you dig the coastal taqueria scene, this will be your new favorite spot.

11. Luna's Cactus Cafe, Selbyville

Luna's is a favorite of nearly everyone - this family friendly place is just as fun as it is delicious. The tacos are just one of the amazing dishes they serve, but they're my favorite. Stop in on your way home from Fenwick Island, or make a trip downstate just to try their incredible tacos. You won't be disappointed.West Fenwick Station Selbyville, DE 19975
