You don’t need to be a huge architectural fan to have heard the name Frank Lloyd Wright at least once in your lifetime. Wright was an American architect, designer, and educator who designed more than 1,000 structures over 70 years of work. With notable accomplishments like Fallingwater and the Guggenheim Museum, it’s hard not to be impressed by his innovation. However, there is only one private home in Florida that was designed by Wright throughout his career! The good news is you can still tour it! ....this “pod-shaped” house is such a unique “hemicircle” shape, it’s only one of two of its kind, like many of Wright's structures.
The “hemicircle” is both concentric and intersecting circles that end up resembling a boat.

Lewis Spring House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 14, 1979.

Today, visitors from all over the country are able to take a tour of the property on certain days.
The Spring House Institute, Inc., which was formed by the family, hopes to restore the property with the help of the public.
