Many moons ago, the owners of Ruck’s Pit discovered fossilized shell rock and huge fossilized clams each filled with beautiful honey-colored calcite crystals.
Geologists have determined that such fossils within Ruck’s Pit are estimated to be around 1.5-million years old!
Visitors to this mine will have a chance to dig in the dirt for whatever treasures they hope to uncover and even take home what they find!
For $30, diggers will be able to fill up their bucket and take their fossilized shells and crystals home to clean up and display proudly.
This is a great adventure for all ages, seeing just what you’ll dig up in the dirt—it’s like a real-life treasure hunt.
Pack a lunch and pack some water, but most importantly of all, prepare yourself to get very dirty!
