The Wooden Coaster In Washington That Will Take You On A Ride Of A Lifetime

For a state that has it all (cities, small towns, mountains, lakes, beaches…), Washington isn’t known for its abundant roller coasters. But what we lack in quality, we certainly make up for in quantity. The Wild Waves Theme Park and Enchanted Village in Federal Way is home to the best coaster in the state, Timberhawk Ride of Prey.

Timberhawk is the largest wooden coaster in the state.

It was added to the park in 2003, and its popularity was instant.

This coaster is fast, with top speeds hitting about 60 MPH.

At 75 feet tall, this ride is full of thrills, including an initial first drop.

When you ride Timberhawk, you’ll fly through the forest and experience 20 crossovers, 12 curves, 12 breathtaking drops, 6 reversals and a 50 mile per hour 60-degree banked turn.

The adrenaline rush is addictive.

There is another roller coaster in the park, but there’s no other coaster like this in the entire state of Washington, including our seasonal fairs.

For the next best wooden coaster experience, you’ll have to travel to Silverwood in Idaho.

You only have to be 48 inches tall to ride.

If you have a fear of heights or aren’t a fan of roller coasters, this may not be the best ride for you. Otherwise, you’ll definitely love it.

Wild Waves Theme Park is located at 36201 Enchanted Pkwy S. in Federal Way. The Timberhawk is definitely a top attraction, but there's plenty more to see. Here are some other perfect places to go in Washington when you're feeling adventurous.

Here’s a YouTube video of the entire Timberhawk Ride of Prey experience. Would you dare?
