There's no better place to accomplish that than the Painted Churches in Schulenburg. The intricate designs from centuries ago and stained-glass windows will evoke a sense of awe and appreciation that's sure to help you and your loved ones make it through these tough times. The Painted Churches are made up of four different churches, all built over a century ago.
St. Mary's Parish was built in 1855 with stone brought in by oxen from a nearby village.
The artwork, painted by a Swiss artists, still remains in its original condition - this means the church has been unchanged for over 100 years.
St. Mary's Catholic Church is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
It was built in 1905 and has a total of 18 stained-glass windows.
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church features stenciling, freehand, and marble techniques
The paintings, depicting male and female Saints with Czech inscriptions underneath, were supposedly done by a European drifter.
Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church was built in 1912.

It has an almost Southern vibe with the colorful spring flowers painted all over the interior. There are also frescoes and stenciling, common styles of artistry in 17th-century Germany.
You can tour the churches on your own from 9am to 4pm provided you're respectful of any events that might be occurring.
Although there are private guided tours and van tours, neither of these options are free.
