Portland has plenty of easily accessible outdoor activities that are suited for all fitness levels and ages. Paired with the natural breathtaking scenery of the Pacific northwest, there are a whole host of opportunities for you to have an epic outdoor adventure today.

1. Forest Park

Forest Park has countless epic adventures waiting for you to explore. This 5,200-acre urban forest, featuring over 70 miles of trails, should be one of your first stops for an epic outdoor adventure.

2. Head to the Waterfront

The waterfront has some of the most stunning views in the city. Stroll along the esplanade, or take the bike, pedestrian and train-only Tilikum Crossing for a sprawling view of the waterfront.

3. Multnomah Falls

Head east of the city to Multnomah Falls for an epic view of mother nature. Right off the I-84, this scenic waterfall is easily accessible and a must-see.

4. Bonneville Fish Hatchery

Head a little further east, and the Bonneville fish hatchery has plenty of things to see. Highlights include the underwater sturgeon viewing tank, feeding the many fish in the hatchery, and a salmon run.

5. Sauvie Island

Whether you want to pick fruit, lay on the beach, or explore trails, there is something for everyone at Sauvie Island.

7. Crystal Springs Rhododendren Garden

This garden situated in Southeast Portland features several wide trails and plenty of park benches to relax and enjoy the ambiance.

8. Wildwood Recreation Area

East of the city, this recreation area has many well-maintained trails, including the beginner friendly Cascade Streamwatch Trail, which takes you to an underwater viewing area and along the Salmon River.

Head to southeast Portland to experience this family-friendly park with some great mountain views.

10. Mt Tabor

A combination of dirt trails and paved roads and trails makes Mt. Tabor accessible for everyone to see the incredible views from its top. Built on an extinct volcano, this park is a natural escape right in the city.
