This Incredible Kite Festival Near Portland Is A Must-See

Head to the coast for this amazing festival at the end of June and you will not be disappointed. Featuring a myriad of colorful and downright spectacular kites, the Lincoln City Kite Festival will feature activities for the whole family along with a sky full of kites worth looking up to.

Held directly on the beach at D-River Wayside State Park, the festival is centrally located in Lincoln City.

Featuring some of the biggest kites in the world, the sky will come alive with flying animals, characters and other brightly colored kites.

Demonstrations by experts and a free kids kite making area ensures that the festival can keep all ages entertained.

If you have never seen big kites, this is a great opportunity to enjoy this fine craft up close.

Featured fliers will put on a spectacular show in the sky for hours a day.

Along with all the excitement, Lincoln City Fire and Rescue will give presentations on the safe ways to enjoy the beach.

The days close out with a kids and kites parade on the beach, allowing the younger set to get in and try their skills at flying.

Just seeing all the amazing kites is plenty of entertainment.

And in some cases, purely jaw-dropping, like these three whales heading up into the sky.

This year, the summer festival will take place June 24 and 25 from 10 am until 4 pm.

If you can't make it this summer, there is also a fall kite festival in the same location that takes place in October. Plan on visiting one of these fun events this year for an amazing display.
