Most People Don’t Know These 8 Hidden Gems In North Dakota Even Exist

There are all the big-name attractions you've heard of plenty times in North Dakota, but there are tons of other places hidden around the state that you may not have thought about... or even know about! Today we're celebrating the under-the-radar treasures found all across the Peace Garden State. How many of these hidden gems in North Dakota have you visited before?

1. Walk of Fame - Fargo

You may have gone by this Walk of Fame before without a second glance. There are more than 110 signatures on this path from tons of big names - bands like Metallica and country stars like Toby Keith included. See who you can find while strolling down this path.

2. Taube Museum of Art - Minot

This isn't only an awesome museum with constantly changing art work. It also is located in a building more than 100 years old that was originally a bank. It's definitely an interesting hidden gem worth visiting in North Dakota!

3. On-a-Slant Village - Mandan

One of the first settlements in North Dakota is still partially preserved here. Four of the original unique shelters still stand today and allow tours. Why not check it out?

4. Jamestown Reservoir - Jamestown

Other than offering great lakeside activities, the park at Jamestown Reservoir also has a world-class disc golf course. It's the perfect place for a lazy (or active) day out in the summer.

5. Paul Broste Rock Museum - Parshall

This quirky museum in Parshall consists of one man's collection of hundreds of rock samples. Some of them are the only ones of their kind in the world. Even if you aren't quite a geologist, it's a pretty neat place to look around. The building itself is also unusual yet cool, and known as the "acropolis on a hill."

6. Pembina Gorge - Walhalla

Who said North Dakota doesn't have any trees? This beautiful gorge is great if you have an itch to get out into nature and is downright gorgeous (see what we did there?) all year long!

7. Frost Fire Ski & Snow Board Area - Walhalla

Believe it or not, North Dakota does have skiing! And it is right in the Pembina Gorge, so you can visit that place year round and have a blast. There are two other skiing areas in the state, as well: Huff Hills in Mandan and the Bottineau Winter Park.

8. Larger-Than-Life Statues - statewide

North Dakota do seem to have a love of oversized animal statues. They can be found pretty much all over the state. Wally the Walleye in Garrison, Wahpper the catfish in Wahpeton, Salem Sue the Holstein cow in New Salem - you name it, we probably have it. Although a bit cheesy to some, going on a scavenger hunt across the state to find these guys and see them in person is actually pretty fun.
