The Overlooked Destination In North Carolina You Should Visit Before It’s Too Popular

Now that fall is in full swing, it's time to seek out some new spots. Here's one that is often overlooked. It's a quaint, charming spot to enjoy an afternoon of strolling, shopping and dining.

Reynolda Village is located right next door to the Wake Forest University Campus. The shops, museum and gardens here were part of the RJ Reynolds estate.

The entire estate encompasses 1,067 acres, and includes the Reynolds' home, barns, a school, post office, carriage house, cottages and more. All have been restored and now serve as shops, restaurants and a museum.

There's plenty to see and do in this quaint little village.

The Reynolda House Museum of American Art is located in what was once the home of R.J. and Katharine Reynolds. It now houses a nice collection of American art from such artists as Mary Cassatt, Georgia O'Keefe and Frederic Church.

The buildings that now serve as shops were styled after an English village, and you've never browsed in a more adorable setting.

Fall is a wonderful time to stroll along the streets of Reynolda Village. The autumn air is crisp and cool, and the fall foliage on the estate is beautiful.

Spend some time walking through the gardens, and don't forget to bring your camera. These gardens are just stunning.

Reynolda Village Park is a nice spot to sit and enjoy the weather, or people-watch.

Enjoy a delicious meal at the Village Tavern. Open since 1984, you'll find everything from brunch to dinner entrees here.

The SILO Bistro & Bar is located near the Old Barn, between two silos. Here, you'll find a nice selection of craft beers, small plates and sandwiches.
