Growing up, shopping trips weren't always something I looked forward to - often times it just meant being hauled around a hardware store's garden section by my mom and hoping she wouldn't meet any friends to talk to at length! But there was one kind of shopping trip I always enjoyed - visiting flea markets and antique malls. You never knew what you would find there, and I still have some of the comic books, action figures, and other oddball finds I would discover there! All of my local flea markets have closed, but their spirit lives on in places like the Newburgh Vintage Emporium. This massive antique store in Newburgh, New York consists of both a main store and a warehouse and has over 50,000 square feet of combined shopping. You never know what will be in stock when you visit, and that's all part of why this might be the best antique mall in New York.
The Newburgh Vintage Emporium is the closest thing New York has to antique heaven on Earth.
This sprawling market has hundreds of stalls with countless unique goods from decades and even centuries past.
If you're looking to furnish your home, this is an amazing place to look for items that will give it a one-of-a-kind flair.
The collection of vintage clocks in particular is always beautiful.
But that's just the start - there are so many unique items here, including collectibles from long-gone pop culture phenomena, and historic artwork.
One of my favorite things here is the massive model train selection, making this a perfect spot for hobbyists.
You never know what wild, wacky, and strange items you'll find here - stuff you never knew existed but you can't possibly live without.
And if that's not enough, there's a second location in town - the Newburgh Vintage Emporium Warehouse, which has a larger selection of furniture.
Have you shopped at the Newburgh Vintage Emporium? Let us know what you bought and if you think it's the best antique mall in New York in the comments section! You can find out more about this flea market, including the current hours and special events, on the official Newburgh Vintage Emporium website. Make sure to also follow the Newburgh Vintage Emporium Facebook for the latest updates on special outdoor events! Newburgh also happens to be home to some of our favorite barbecue in New York. And if you're looking for a place to stay in the town, there's an outpost of my favorite chain - Homewood Suites Stewart Airport, only minutes from Newburgh. I love how roomy the suites here are, and the free breakfast buffet is always delicious!
