Fit for adventurers of all ages, this ride takes place each weekend in October and offers passengers a glimpse of the fall foliage and unforgettable activities.
Check out what's in store on this one-of-a-kind New Jersey day trip:
All aboard! Beginning September 30th, the Great Pumpkin Train offers scenic and festive excursions every weekend until October 29th.
The trips leave at 11AM, 12:30PM, 2PM, and 3:30PM. The cost to ride the Great Pumpkin Train is $18 for adults and $12 for children.
As it meanders along the scenic Delaware River, the Great Pumpkin Train makes its first stop at an authentic pumpkin patch.
Tucked away near the century-old Carpentersville Lime Kilns, the pumpkin patch is a gorgeous place to breathe in the crisp fall air while the little ones pick out a pumpkin.
The lime kilns on site happen to be the oldest and largest of their kind remaining in New Jersey. In fact, they date back to before the Revolutionary War.
For just $5 more, passengers can opt to experience the Susquehanna Mine and Corn Maze.
In fact, the only way to access the mine and maze is by train.
At the Ol' Susquehanna Mine, visitors can pan for real gem stones that can be taken home.
In addition to the pumpkins, these gems are the perfect token to remember your one-of-a-kind train excursion.
Last but not least, the Corn Maze is a thrilling activity where participants of all ages can play seasonal games.
Also located on Snyder Farm, the Corn Maze is shaped like a train and offers exciting ways to catch the spirit of the season.
After the maze, passengers are encouraged to enjoy a picnic lunch at the riverside picnic area.
Under the shelter of the pine trees, you can enjoy your packed picnic lunch while discussing the day's adventures. You'll then return on the train ride back approximately 1.5 hours later.
Whether it's your first time on a Delaware River Train Excursion or you happen to be a seasoned passenger, you'll love celebrating fall on the Great Pumpkin Train.
