New Jersey is quickly becoming the craft beer capital of America. Our craft beer scene is the fastest growing in the nation and, as of last count, there were just over 100 breweries in the Garden State. You could try a new brewery every week for the next two years - and by 2021, there will likely be more to choose from. But New Jersey isn't just about quantity when it comes to craft beer, we're about quality. Beer Connoisseur named Cape May Brewing Co.'s "The Topsail" the best beer in the country! Of course, there are numerous other award winning beers produced in our small state. Raritan Bay Brewing Co. isn't there quite yet (they've been open less than a year), but we won't be surprised to see them top lists in the future!
Raritan Bay Brewing Co. is Keansburg's first brewery!
Since Prohibition, that is. When drinking was illegal, brewing thrived here. However, there hasn't been a brewery in decades. Enter Raritan Bay Brewing...
Located at 32 Church Street, the building has loads of history.
The 19th century brick building has been a church, jail, and bank over the years.
A microbrewery, they are a 7-barrel brewhouse.
Currently on tap you'll find Evil Clown Pumpkin Ale, Gingerboys Imperial Stout (a perfect winter beer), and Jurassic Amber Ale, among others.
You can take free tours and, while they don't have food, you can bring your own. They also offer a variety of events to enjoy.
Past and upcoming events include: painting and beer, yoga and beer, trivia night, and cigars under the stars (smoking allowed on the patio only).
