Experience A True Winter In New Hampshire With This Refreshing Tour Through The Countryside

Experience winter in New Hampshire with a dog sledding tour at Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel.

It's winter in New Hampshire. Probably best to stay indoors and wait for things to thaw out. Or, you could get outside and experience everything that comes with the colder weather in New England. From skiing to tubing to seeing the sites from up above, there's nothing like the appreciation for the state that comes when getting outside and seeing it in all its glory. That's why we absolutely love the idea of this dog sledding tour!

If you're a dog lover, there's only one way to REALLY enjoy the winter and it's with a furry friend!

Luckily, the four-legged team at Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel are ready to greet you for the most fun way to experience winter in the state.

Muddy Paw is the home of 80 sled dogs, many of which are are rescues. Living here has given them a second chance at a fun, loving life.

In order to care for the dogs, Muddy Paw developed into an adventure tour operator allowing visitors to experience the outdoors in New Hampshire through the natural activity of these dogs.

The tours are meant to be both fun and educational, involving the guests as much as they are comfortable with.

In the winter, visitors can take a ride on traditional dog sleds.

And in the summer, tours are done on rolling dog sleds created for both the comfort and safety of dogs and humans.

In 2013, the operation expanded to include the NH Sled Dog Rescue, History and Education Center. The nonprofit organization focuses on taking in rescue and second chance sled dogs, providing education about them to the public and ensuring that the state's dog sledding history is maintained. The organization also works to find homes through their sled dog adoption program.

All you need for these tours is a love of the outdoors, New Hampshire, and living things!

Winter tours range from 1.5 to 3 hours. There's also a way to enjoy the experience in a smaller way with the "mini mush" option.

Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel is located at 32 Valley Rd., Jefferson, New Hampshire. There are four different experiences to have here, including the 1.5-hour tour, the 3-hour tour, the Mini Mush and the Musher for a Minute. You can learn more about what each of these include on their website. See more photos on their Facebook page.
