There is so much beauty in and around Kansas City that it's hard to spot all of it. After all, sometimes things are more beautiful on the inside than you could ever imagine. This church, however, is just as stunning inside as it is on the outside! A visit here is sure to leave you spellbound.
Welcome to the stately, yet beautiful Cathedral of St. Peter.
This church on the Kansas side of Kansas City is one of the most beautiful buildings in town. If you think the architecture isn't enough to claim that title, just wait until you see the inside.
This Roman Catholic cathedral was built in 1927 and became the Cathedral for the Archdiocese in 1947.
The striking Gothic Revival style sets it apart from other modern churches in the area. At 145 feet tall at its highest point, it's hard to miss.
While awe-inspiring from the outside, what lies inside is the best part of its beauty.
It's been a church, a school, and a place for people to gather and celebrate for decades. I wonder how many have walked through these doors...
When you step inside, you're greeted with the most gorgeous sight. The Cathedral of St. Peter always immaculately decorated for every season and occasion.
The white of the altar and walls against the windows is a striking contrast, which only gets brighter once the sun shines through.
The Cathedral is also home to the Archbishop's cathedra (throne).
The light coming through the stained glass is enough to leave anyone in awe. Each of these windows is a painting, and they surround you with beauty.
You can find this gorgeous cathedral at 409 N 15th St. in Kansas City, Kansas. Here's a handy map to help you get there:
While you're on the prowl for stunning buildings, you should check out one of Kansas City's most beautiful restaurants.
