Veteran owned and operated and staffed solely by volunteers, the model train museum offers the chance to introduce the little ones to the railroad in a fun yet educational way.
Staff are on hand to answer questions and to provide valuable insight into the world of model trains and the history of the railroad.
You'll see some pretty amazing model trains with the oldest dating back to 1910. The wind-up American Flyer-Cast Iron model train is a must see.
If you want to delve deeper into the history of the railroad, visit the resource center and library at the museum, which is brimming with more than 20,000 magazines and books.
The kids are probably itching to play with the trains, too, which they can do in a special room.
If you build model trains, you'll definitely want to visit the Recylced Railroad Shop at the museum. There, you'll find a treasure trove of parts, including engines and tracks.
Carve out the third Saturday of every month, too, to head over to the museum for the Model Train Market. You never know what treasures you'll find.
