This Waterpark in Mississippi Is the Perfect Summer Adventure

Serengeti Springs is full of family fun.

Looking for a waterpark to cool off this summer? Well, we've found one that's worth a road trip from any corner of the state. Serengeti Springs at the Hattiesburg Zoo opened just two years ago, and it's already breaking records. There's a lot packed into this waterpark, so let's check it out.

Serengeti Springs at the Hattiesburg Zoo is going into its third season, and it’s a must-see summer attraction. There’s no better way to beat the heat, especially because we all know how brutal Mississippi summers can be.

There’s a lot packed into the 3.5-acre waterpark, including nine waterslides, a 450-foot lazy river, water cannons, and more. All of the waterslides have height requirements. Most of them have a 40” height requirement, but there are a few (Serengeti Swirl) with a taller, 48” requirement.

Those looking for the ultimate experience can rent one of the premium cabanas for the day. The premium cabanas include two chaise lounge chairs, a bar table with four chairs, two sofas, a private safe, a storage cabinet, USB charging ports and power outlets, a ceiling fan, and food/beverage service.

There are food trucks and a snack station for sweet treats and tasty options like pizza. There’s also an adults-only swim-up bar where folks can sip on an alcoholic beverage or two. Just remember to drink responsibly!

Season passes to Serengeti Springs are $140. But you'll want to buy them sooner rather than later because they tend to sell out. Day passes are also available and range from $23 to $35, depending on the day of the week and whether you buy online or at the park. It's cheaper on weekdays, and you'll likely experience fewer crowds, too.

Before you head over to this new waterpark in Mississippi, it's important to note that Serengeti Springs is completely cashless. Visit the Serengeti Springs website for more information, and be sure to follow Serengeti Springs on Facebook so you can stay up to date on any upcoming announcements or weather-related information.
