There’s Nothing Better Than This Epic Festival In Detroit

Is there anything more exciting than a massive celebration full of music, fun, and food? We Detroiters sure know how to have a good time, and we’re lucky to live in a city that comes to life with plenty of festivals and special events throughout the year. The Motor City is home to one festival that draws in huge crowds during the warmer months, and it will quickly become your new favorite family tradition.

Detroit River Days is a festival that happens annually along the banks of the Detroit River. This fantastically fun event is sponsored by General Motors.

Since 2007, Detroiters and visitors from out of town have been gathering to celebrate community, arts, and culture. That’s right — 2017 will mark the tenth anniversary of the Detroit River Days festival!

For one weekend each June, the Detroit RiverWalk bustles with every sort of of attraction and event you can possibly imagine.

Enjoy the sounds of live music as you gaze at passing boats on the river. Can you picture a more wonderful setting for a summertime celebration?

There’s something for everyone at River Days. Kiddos will appreciate face-painting, carnival rides, and one-of-a-kind magic shows.

Older attendees will be charmed by high-flying Tuskegee Airmen shows, zip lines, and even an opportunity to participate in a riverfront yoga class!

Of course, the festival happens smack dab in the middle of Milliken State Park, which offers natural beauty year-round. Take a break from the excitement with a calming walk down one of the park’s waterfront trails.

Did we mention the food? Detroiters know how to eat, so you can rest assured that River Days offers an array of edible delights from across the city.

There are a few months to go until it’s Detroit River Days time, but one thing is for sure: this festival is well worth the wait, and you’ll only find it in the Motor City.
