These Fireworks Displays In Louisiana Will Drop Your Jaw

Highlights various 4th of July celebrations and fireworks shows across Louisiana.

While last year's fireworks in Louisiana were pretty awesome, (which we covered here,) there are some things in store this year that are going to be truly amazing. You are going to absolutely love them. We just know it! Check out all that Louisiana has going on this year:

1. Red White Blue & You Festival, Lake Charles

Celebrating its 19th year in 2016, this festival features a parade that kicks off the celebration around 6 p.m on July 4th. Then the partying will continue at the Lake Charles Civic Center Arcade Pavilion with a number of local school and community bands as well as a presentation by the Louisiana Choral Foundation. The fireworks will kick off at 9:15 p.m.

2. Celebration on the Cane, Natchitoches

This annual Independence day celebration takes place on Cane River Lake in downtown Natchitoches, highlighting some of the incredible shops and restaurants here as well as providing free live music entertainment and of course a very beautiful fireworks show. The festival starts July 4th at 12 noon and ends with fireworks at 9 p.m.

3. Downtown River Jam, Monroe

Monroe will be going all out this 4th of July, but getting the party started a few days early on Saturday, July 2nd. That day will kick off at the Downtown RiverMarket, where a community appreciation day will highlight the heroes of the recent floods that have damaged many places in the area. Later, from 6-9 p.m., the Downtown River Jam will kick off, featuring a number of local and regional musicians. And then at dark, the CenturyLink Star Spangled Spectacular will offer a gorgeous fireworks display!

4. Independence Day Festival, Shreveport

This 8th annual event takes place at the Shreveport Riverfront and offers a full evening of activities beginning at 5:30 p.m. on July 4th. Revelers can enjoy the Steak Cook-off, dodgeball exhibition, and a full children’s area that is sure to entertain kids of all ages. And of course, the fireworks!

4. Erath 4th of July Celebration, Erath

Stretching out the celebration for weeks, there are already events going on in the town to celebrate July 4th, with the bulk of the activities taking place from June 30th – July 4th. July 2nd and 3rd will feature full days of local music, and at 10 a.m. on July 4th, a full scale water fight between the area fire departments will take over the area. And of course, fireworks will take place that evening at 9 p.m. Check out all the details at erath4.com

6. Freedom Festival, Baton Rouge Downtown

Kids and their families flock to the Baton Rouge downtown Freedom Festival that takes place annually outside of the USS KIDD Veterans Memorial from 11a.m. – 4 p.m. The festival includes face painters, a bounce house, arts and rafts, and musical performances. Fireworks will light up the sky here later in the evening, starting around 5 p.m.

7. Independence Celebration, Youngsville

This July 3rd will host the annual Youngsville Independence day Celebration, an evening event that is fun for all, from stilt walkers to the music styling of Déjà Vu. And of course---an awesome fireworks display! You don’t want to miss this.

8. Go 4th on the River, New Orleans Riverfront

Crowds start gathering early for this yearly fireworks display that has been ranked fifth in the country by the American Pyrotechnic Association. You’ll see fireworks being set off by two separate barges on the Mississippi, lighting up the sky and bringing smiles to everyone who joins. It begins at 9 p.m.
