Nestled on 440 acres in the heart of good old Baton Rouge, the Burden Museum & Gardens is a must-visit attraction for anyone looking to learn more about agriculture.
Once you visit this magical garden, you may never want to leave.
The botanic gardens in particular are an absolute joy to walk through when things are in bloom.
There are several gardens you’ll want to see, including the stone camellia garden, the herb garden, the tropical garden, the memory garden, the Barton Arboretum, and Oak Grove, just to name a few.
Lucky for us, living in Louisiana has its perks because no matter what time of year you visit, you can bet something will be in bloom.
There are five miles of walking paths that will take you through the Burden Woods with pops of color that’ll illuminate your path.
Ancient oaks and beautiful crepe myrtles create an enchanting canopy that’ll have you considering planting a garden of your very own in your backyard.
And there are several little hidden pockets you'll discover along the way, perfect for sitting quietly for a moment and marveling at the beauty before you.
The gardens are open daily from 8 a.m. 'til 5 p.m.
