There is something so eery, yet fascinating about abandoned places in Kentucky. Each of these forgotten destinations has so many stories to tell and there's definitely a sadness that comes along with them. Many people are downright obsessed with exploring abandoned places, including abandoned stores, and we found some fantastic footage taken by one of them. WallieB26 shares his adventures on YouTube and one of his favorite places to visit is former Ames Department Stores. This particular abandoned Ames Department Store in Kentucky was located in Radcliff, and you won't believe what was once hidden inside.

Redmar Plaza in Radcliff was once the most popular place to shop in the area, but it now stands empty.

This particular property was many businesses over the years and one of them was Ames Department Store. After overcoming bankruptcy, Ames acquired Hills Department Stores, which unfortunately is likely what led to its final demise.

This store and the other sections of the strip mall have been vacant for some years, but that doesn't mean they aren't still filled to the brim with their past lives.

On WallieB26's YouTube channel, he shared a video showing the interior of this store and his findings are fascinating. He went inside in the spring of 2020, but keep in mind this is private property and it is not recommended that you, yourself explore the interior.

You wouldn't want to explore it for many reasons, but one of them is that it is quite literally raining inside and the building and everything inside is covered with mold.

It is unbelievable how many boxes, items, and other random objects fill the rooms of this once-popular store.

There are toys, collectibles (the space was once a flea market), old computers, and so much more.

In the video, shown below, you'll see some things that you'll likely remember from the 80s and 90s.

You'll also be spooked, right along with the YouTuber, by this mannequin that lingers behind a doorway.

Admittedly, watching this video is a little like watching a thriller on TV. You have no idea what you'll see next.

And in this case, that includes old cars like this Corvette.

There have been dealings in the works to demolish this strip mall and turn it into a hotel since it sits across the street from an entrance to Fort Knox. No matter what becomes of it, this video that shows remnants of its former life will always be eery and fascinating.
