Stay Away From Illinois’ Most Haunted Street After Dark Or You May Be Sorry

The dark history of Bloods Point Road haunts Boone County in Northern Illinois. Countless stories and legends have come out of the area, particularly around the bridge and cemetery along the road. Though it seems pretty normal during the day, this is definitely somewhere you do not want to be after dark.

The bridge on Bloods Point Road is the center of many creepy stories.

From people jumping off to those getting hit by a train below, this bridge has a grim history. It's strange to see it in the daytime, as it seems very ordinary.

Also the subject of local legends is the Bloods Point Cemetery.

Numerous stories of ghost sightings have come out of this cemetery. Ghost hunters have visited many times over the years to explore in the darkness.

One of the more popular stories is that of a woman named Beulah.

She supposedly hanged her children, and then herself, off the bridge nearby. Many have reported seeing her figure at night.

At night, the street transforms into a much scarier place.

As the story goes, a bus full of children once ran over the side of the bridge. Now, locals say that if you put your car in neutral on the bridge, you will be "pushed" across.
