What to Do in Cadiz
Cadiz may be small, but don't let that trick you into thinking there isn't much to do in town. Quite the contrary—from art museums to gift shops, restaurants, and historic buildings, there's a lot to see and do. One of the best mornings in Cadiz starts with some time on the water. If you head to the state resort park, hike some or all of the Lake Barkley Wilderness Trail, a wonderful way to get the lay of the land. This 5.2-mile out-and-back trail goes through lakeshore woodlands and near the water. For a shorter trek, try the 1.4-mile Blue Springs Trail loop.
And don't forget to spend some time on the water! There's a marina in town, the Lake Barkley Marina, that can help you coordinate a boat rental, whether you're looking for a pontoon or a bass boat. Prefer to stay on land and simply enjoy the water views? They've got food at the marina! Cap’n Jim’s Grill has a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere and a seriously impressive menu. The fried fish, shrimp basket, and hush puppies all come highly recommended, and the floating patio is a fun, festive setting for your waterfront meal!
