The Snowscapes Festival in Driggs, Idaho, is a unique winter event featuring a public art competition of intricate snow sculptures.

Mark your calendars for January 26-21, 2023, to attend Snowscapes, a must-visit winter festival in Driggs, Idaho. This snow sculpting event is essentially a public art competition, and you are likely to see some very impressive creations.

Presented by the Downtown Driggs Association and held at the city’s plaza, national and regional artists will compete with local artists to create massive snow sculptures and work to earn the top prize.

The event starts with the moving and forming of the snow. This process takes a lot of work to ensure every team has the perfect starting block to work from. Then, the artists will have several days to create their masterpieces.

The 2023 theme is winter sports and artists are encouraged to think outside of the box and create sculptures that are sure to be jaw-dropping.

On Saturday, January 21, the public is welcome to attend a large community block party where guests can walk around the snow sculptures and vote for their favorite. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the snow-inspired games, hot drinks and cookies, and even the awards ceremony at the end of the party.

This entire event is free and open to the public. It is one festival the entire family will enjoy and who knows ... it may just make you fall in love with winter in Idaho all over again.
