These Two Stunning Florida Beaches Were Just Named The Best In The Country

One of the most prominent beach experts, Dr. Beach just released the list that Floridians look forward to the most every year. The list for the 2021 Top 10 Beaches in the country was released and not one, but two Florida beaches made the cut. While we didn’t earn the number one spot this year, we’re still happy to have both Caladesi Island and St. George Island make the list. Take a look at what makes these two beaches in Florida so special.

This year, Professor Stephen Leatherman, also known as “Dr. Beach” has chosen not one, but two Florida beaches to include in the Top 10 Best Beaches in the country list.

First, the ever-impressive Caladesi Island in Dunedin, Florida, which is one of the very few untouched islands on the Gulf Coast.

Caladesi Island is pure tranquility, with white sandy beaches and warm tropical breezes.

According to Dr. Beach, Caladesi Island made the list because of the crystalline quartz sand, the sparklingly clear waters, plus the boardwalk trails which are overflowing with blue herons and mangroves.

The second beach to make the list this year in Florida is none other than the panhandle’s St. George Island.

About two hours driving from Florida’s capital city, St. George Island was described by Leatherman as being perfect for beachcombing, shelling, and the “sugary fine, white sand beach.”

This barrier island was hit hard by Hurricane Michael back in 2018 but has since recovered, reopening in 2019 for guests to enjoy the warm, aquamarine water.

While Floridians likely agree that almost all of our beaches should make Dr. Beach’s list, we’re happy to have both Caladesi Island and St. George Island gain the recognition they deserve.
