One of the best places to enjoy ice skating in Hartford, CT is at Winterfest Hartford, an amazingly fun month-long event that features free ice skating for the community at historic Bushnell Park. Especially nowadays, it can feel like there's not much in life that's free, but Winterfest Hartford proves you can still have a good time without spending a dime.

The event is organized by a variety of sponsorships from local companies and individuals, and features ice skating and skate rentals at no cost to visitors.

If you don't know how to skate, there are also free skating lessons offered on select days.

There are even special events on certain days, like Santa's Workshop, Mascot Skate, and more.

Winterfest Hartford takes place at Bushnell Park's ice skating rink, near the Pump House.
