Whether you are single, raising a family, or recently retired, you deserve to live somewhere safe, which, fortunately, Colorado is generally considered to be. However, if you are looking for the safest communities in this already somewhat safe state, these 10 cities are where you want to be:
The results are in and according to Safewise's list of Colorado’s 20 Safest Cities of 2021, Frederick (#1), Milliken, Severance, Lamar, Firestone, Eaton, Cherry Hills Village, Castle Rock, Erie, and Dacono (#10, pictured) are the Top 10 safest places to live.
As per the review, the cities that cracked the Top 10 have experienced little to no violent crimes over the last 3 years, with Frederick (pictured) reporting no violent incidents so far this year and only 1 property crime.
In general, both violent and property crimes are fairly low around the Centennial State, with Safewise reporting a 2021 violent crime rate of 3.8 per 1,000 residents and a property crime rate of 25.9 per 1,000 residents.
While property and violent crimes are generally low around Colorado, there is one thing that we all need to be more careful with: package theft.
According to Safewise, package theft is the biggest fear that Coloradans have, and for a good reason, as 24% of residents have had a package stolen in the last year.
In addition to the aforementioned Top 10, the list also includes other safe and high-ranking towns like Louisville (#11), Manitou Springs, Carbondale, Estes Park, Parker, Woodland Park, Avon, Johnstown, Fruita, and Littleton (#20, pictured).
