Whether you’re a lover of the haunted or a history buff looking to experience amazing stories firsthand, you will love The Queen Mary. This incredible ship is rich with both ghosts and history, and it’s a famous landmark for many great reasons. If you’ve ever wondered about what a haunted ship in Southern California would be like, this is definitely the place for you!
The Queen Mary is one of the most recognizable sights in the whole region, and its history is just as captivating as its gorgeous exterior!
Beginning back in 1936, the Queen Mary was considered the pinnacle of luxury for wealthy sea traveling travelers, including famous actors and political players.
The 1939 beginning of World War II brought the Queen Mary into military service for 15,000 soldiers. It was at this time that the ship became known as “the Grey Ghost,” foreshadowing its haunted future.
After the war, the ship went back to being a fabulous ship for traveling, but during the 1960s, traveling by sea became less popular. In 1967, the Queen Mary was retired from traveling duties and became a fun attraction for people to visit in Long Beach.
The ship features a beautiful interior filled with the kind of old world charm that will make you feel like you just traveled back in time in a glorious time machine.
While it’s lovely to look at, this ship also features the mysterious haunted presence of ghosts! Many passengers have experienced paranormal occurrences here, and you’ll get to hear all about them if you take the Haunted Encounters Tour.
Come for the history and stay for the spirits at this unforgettable ship. The Queen Mary is always a memorable experience, and we’re willing to bet you’ll want to come back to experience even more of the one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
