7 Stops Everyone Must Make Along Connecticut’s Seafood Trail
When you think of Connecticut cuisine, one of the first types of foods to come to mind is more than likely seafood. Like the rest of New England, we are mighty proud of our seafood in Connecticut, and with good reason! From our fried fish to our clam chowder and (of course) our lobster rolls, we have some of the very best, and freshest, seafood in the entire country. Here are a few of our favorite must-visit seafood restaurants in Connecticut:

Stowe's Seafood serves up some of the best lobster rolls in New England, which we know is quite the claim. This seafood shack has an eclectic vibe and is open all year round.

There are tons of fried seafood options, and you don't want to miss out on the rolls. Whether you're looking for lobster, shrimp, squid, or clam rolls, you can find them at Stowe's.

When it comes to fried seafood, Captain Scott's Lobster Dock is king. This no-frills spot is a simple counter-serve style spot with a covered patio to eat on, but what it lacks in luxury it makes up for in taste.

You'll find the Connecticut favorite, lobster rolls, here, of course, but also just about every type of fried seafood you can think of. Delicious food, waterfront views, what more could you ask for?

Another delightful waterfront seafood restaurant in Connecticut is Shell and Bones in New Haven. There's both indoor dining and an outdoor deck where you can enjoy magical views.

The upscale menu here features beautifully-presented (and delicious) food that's locally sourced whenever possible. The raw bar is especially great, with farm-to-table oysters and clams.

Max Fish is an upscale eatery in Glastonbury that is famed for its boozy brunch and delicious seafood.

This place has incredible food and an elegant atmosphere. The happy hour is always a blast.

The Whelk is located right on the Saugatuck River. The food quality is delicious, but the atmosphere is fairly casual, so you won't feel like you're in too stuffy of a place.

The food here is sustainably-caught and locally-sourced whenever possible. You'll find an inspired menu with creative, beautifully-presented meals. Happy hour is a must try - you can get low-priced oysters that are oh-so-tasty.

The nautically-inspired U.S.S. Chowder Pot has two locations in the Nutmeg State. These casual spots have been opened for decades and it's no wonder why.

The fresh, delicious seafood is the masterpiece here, but you can also get sandwiches, beef, chicken, and other tasty meals if you prefer.

Lobster Landing is the quintessential Connecticut seafood shack. This place is decidedly no-frills, but it's certainly delicious!

Is anything better than enjoying a warm lobster roll right by the water? The generous portions and fresh food will have you making this a regular stop.
