If you're looking for great seafood in Connecticut, you don't have to go far. Whether you prefer it grilled fresh off the boat, raw like sushi, or breaded up and fried, you'll find plenty of offerings here. Even the farthest inland areas of the Nutmeg State are still only a few hours from the water. One of our favorite spots that specializes in fried seafood in Connecticut is Captain Scott's Lobster Dock. This charming, no-frills eatery is right on the water and serves up amazing fried fish and shrimp like nowhere else.
Captain Scott's is a seasonal spot that has been delighting visitors since it opened back in 1996.
It's little more than a simple take-out window with picnic tables out front, but it sure is delicious!
There's also a covered area you can eat under if you'd rather eat your food on the premises but in the shade.
The restaurant is right on the water, providing excellent waterfront views.
Eating seafood while watching boats pull in is a pretty fantastic combination.
The menu has lobster rolls, seafood sandwiches, and other fresh fish delights, but the fried seafood is where this place really shines.
Fried calimari, fried cod, fried shrimp, fried sea scallops, fried oysters, and more are available here - and they're all delicious.
Visit early to beat the crowds, as it's no surprise that Captain Scott's can get pretty busy, especially on weekends.
Between the incredible views, friendly atmosphere, and fried seafood, this is one of our favorite seafood restaurants in Connecticut.
