Winter in Connecticut after the holiday season doesn’t have to be grim. Sure, by the time January 2 rolls around, things can feel a little depressing. The short days and endless cold can get tiresome. Luckily, there are plenty of winter festivals in Connecticut that are perfect for brightening up the dreariness of winter! One of our favorites is the Wintertide event in Mystic, held annually over Presidents’ Day weekend at the Mystic Seaport Museum. The museum is one of our favorite attractions in the state at any time of year, but it’s especially magical at this time. The family-friendly event is full of fun, with everything from ice-sculpture carving to real, live reindeer.
