You might think general stores in Connecticut are extinct. After all, it seems like the internet and big box stores have taken over just about everything: it can feel like there’s a Walmart on every corner and an Amazon delivery van on every street. But that doesn’t mean good old-fashioned country stores and general stores have gone the way of the dodo bird! You can still find plenty of opportunities to support these nostalgic shops in the Nutmeg State. One of our favorites is the delightful Warren General Store in Warren. This place is a true throwback. You can purchase home goods and kitchenware here, but there’s also a delicious deli with some phenomenal sandwiches and salads available, as well as various baked goods.
