Fun fact: most people can't pronounce the town this place is in. But they can at least agree the home fries are superb. You get great portions here and can enjoy the remote, small town vibes.

Banana bread french toast might just be the greatest thing ever. This small intimate diner comes with an Irish twist that patrons love. If you're feeling adventurous, order Brian's Breakfast- it's a chef's surprise and it's different every time.

Cage and antibiotic free, this small shop specializes in breakfast and sandwiches. If you live in the Stamford area you may have seen its food truck out and about. Stop by the main location for a mouthwatering start to your day.
8. Sugar Bowl

This eccentric family owned restaurant has an interior decked out with holiday trinkets. They've been serving up classic plates for 60 years now and are a staple of the community. You can't come through this town without grabbing one of their omelettes.

Another small town cash only joint, this diner makes homemade corned beef hash to die for. All the locals know and love the staff here and they can get a little busy on the weekends. Their hearty meals are guaranteed to fill you up!

You can also find locations in Waterford and Groton. The homey fries come loaded with cheese at this classic diner, complete with lots of bar seating. Some specials come with free coffee and/or tea, making this pit stop a great bang for your buck. So don't miss out.
