When you think of Colorado foodie destinations, which come to mind? Denver? Telluride? Maybe Fort Collins? While all of these popular Colorado towns are chock-full of wonderful places to eat, the smallish (with 8,000 residents) city of Trinidad may just be the most scrumdiddilyumptious destination of them all. Let's take a closer look at some of the best restaurants in Trinidad:

1. Bella Luna Pizzeria

If you think the outside of this popular pizzeria looks dreamy, wait until you check out the amazing menu, which consists of such unforgettable pies as the Hula Hula (Hawaiian), The Loco (Grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, pesto sauce, and mozzarella), and Mediterranean (Artichoke hearts, onion, black olives, tomatoes, spinach, and feta).

2. Nana & Nano Monteleone's Deli and Pasta House

As someone who recently stopped by Nana & Nano's during a road trip Santa Fe, I can attest to the fact that the food at this gem is not only authentic and delicious, but also very affordable! (If you are looking for recommendations, try the meatball sub... molto bene!)

3. The Cafe

Whether you have an appetite for a breakfast egg puff, fresh and flavorful wrap, or a filling salad, The Cafe has you covered! In fact, if you take just one bite, you will understand why The Cafe has nearly perfect ratings on TripAdvisor, Yelp, and Facebook.

4. Lee's Bar-B-Q

Lee's Bar-B-Q ain't your typical BBQ joint... Case in point: the pictured beauty isn't just a plate of delicious chili fries, but actually the restaurant's famous chili BURGER (a patty smothered in homemade fries and green chili).

5. Wonderful House Chinese Restaurant

For the most "wonderful" Chinese food outside of -- well, China -- check out Trinidad's Wonderful House Chinese Restaurant, which serves an extensive menu of Mandarin, Hunan, Szechuan, and Cantonese favorites.

6. Bob And Earl's Cafe Hiway 12

Remember those hearty and home-cooked breakfasts you used to get when you visited grandma's house? The food at Bob and Earl's is the closest thing I have had to her incredible food since my childhood! (Psst... order the Mexican Biscuit and/or Grandpa's Homemade Pancakes... you can thank me later.)

7. What a Grind
