The Space Age Motel and Restaurant was conceived and built in the mid 1960s by Al Stovall, a past president of Best Western motels.

Stovall's fascination with NASA and the space program played a big role in the theme of his new motel. Back in those days, the motel lobby was adorned with autographed images of the astronauts.
The motel and restaurant (originally a coffee shop) have undergone a few renovations since the 60s, but the overall space theme has prevailed.

Futuristic spaceships adorn the walls of the Space Age Restaurant, while a huge spaceship sits atop the motel lobby. It's 28 feet in diameter and 28 feet high and, at night, it lights up as if ready for take off.
All-day dining is available in the Space Age Restaurant, where your food arrives with a smile from the friendly staff.

The menu has a wide variety of traditional American fare including an out-of-this-world breakfast, lunar lunch items, and extraterrestrial dinners. Southwest favorites are available as well.
