Both A Restaurant And An Exotic Animal Park, Dillon’s KC BBQ Is An Underrated Day Trip Destination

Wildlife World Zoo is one of the most popular exotic animal parks in Arizona, but few people know it's also home to several amazing restaurants. One of them is Dillon's KC BBQ, an authentic Kansas City-style barbecue joint with a 60,000-gallon shark tank inside and patio seating right next to the zoo's flamingo habitat. It's such a fun place to dine, and the delicious food is just icing on the cake!

Located inside Wildlife World Zoo (home to Arizona’s largest collection of exotic and endangered animals), Dillon's KC BBQ is such a fun place to enjoy a meal.

Zoo admission is not required to dine at the restaurant.

Inside, a nautical adventure unlike anything you've ever experienced awaits.

A massive, 60,000-gallon aquarium filled with all sorts of colorful marine life is the centerpiece of the room, and you'll definitely want to ask for a front-row seat. (If you're lucky, you might even spot a shark or two in the tank!)

Outdoor dining is also available, and the patio just so happens to be right next to the zoo's flamingo habitat.

You'll be transported straight to the tropics as you get up-close and personal with these incredible birds.

One look at the six-page menu, and you'll be faced with quite a delicious dilemma.

Traditional Kansas City barbecue is the name of the game, featuring a wide selection of meats such as ribs, brisket, smoked sausage, and burnt ends.

You'll also see a bevy of other entrees, including burgers, sandwiches, salads, loaded baked potatoes, and too many more to list.

Many of the dishes come with sides, which consist of the usual suspects like mashed potatoes, steak fries, macaroni and cheese, and baked beans.

So whether you choose to sit with the fish or the flamingos, rest assured you're in for a great time at Dillon's.

Also, be sure to look out for cleverly named menu items like the "Brontosaurus Ribs" and "Sharkinator" on-tap beer.

Hours are 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday & Saturday, and 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday.
