Over on Madison’s northeast side is a brilliant little diner with huge portions of homemade food that have been satisfying diners for more than 40 years.
The folks who opened O’Malley’s Jet Room first ran a farm restaurant in Waunakee for 20 years. After a year out of the restaurant biz, they came back and opened this awesome place right in Madison. Since 2002, they’ve been in a gorgeous new building serving up stellar food with even better views.
With a whole wall of windows looking out onto the runway, your meal comes with a bit of a show as you get to watch all kinds of aircraft, from commercial to personal to military, take off and land.
Sat right next to the runway, the Jet Room offers an awesome and unique dining experience.
They're open 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch. Hours are Monday - Saturday from 6:00 am - 2:00 pm and Sunday from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. All breakfast items are served right up until they close each day.
I love a good pun, so I'm partial to the long list of "Benny at the Jet" options these folks have and the food doesn't disappoint. Choose from six different Eggs Benedict options.
Of course, the very best meal you can get here - if you can afford a bit of a splurge - is the $100 hamburger. Choose your favorite burger from their menu and then prepare for the best "side" you could imagine - a scenic airplane ride over Madison!

The original owners recently hand-picked new management to take over the business. The new owners are keeping the name and the food that keeps bringing people back.
