The West Virginia Forest Trail That Leads You To An Abandoned Dam Is Quite The Adventure
We recently took West Virginians on a hike through an abandoned village. Today’s journey will lead you on a wonderful trip to another one of the Mountain State’s deserted spots. Put on your hiking shoes and get ready for a surreal experience as we travel through the forest to an abandoned dam.
Located one mile into the forest of Spencer, West Virginia, is quite an unexpected sight. Covered in moss and rising up beneath the tree canopy is an abandoned dam from another time.
Have you ever hike the Ben’s Run Trail? Share your photos and experiences in the comments section below or in our West Virginia Nature Lover’s Group on Facebook. We’d love to hear from you! If you like combining an outdoor walk with the remnants of West Virginia history, take this hike to the abandoned wine cellar at a stunning local park.
