This Funky Little Town In Washington Is A True Hidden Gem

Pomeroy, a charming historic town in southeastern Washington, offers unique local culture and modern amenities.

Washington is full of charming little towns that are perfect for both a short visit and making a life. But while spots like Port Townsend and Poulsbo tend to get most of the attention, you'll also find plenty of hidden gems hidden among our mountains and plains. Pomeroy is one of those places.

Pomeroy is located in Garfield County, in the southeastern corner of the state.

Needless to say, it doesn't get as much drive through traffic as some of our other cities and towns.

Pomeroy was incorporated in 1886, and it still maintains its historic charms.

In fact, a 10 block section of the historic downtown area was added to the National Historic Register in 2003.

But despite its historic vibe, you'll find a few modern amenities in this charming town.

Castlemoyle Books and Gifts is family owned and operated, offering a huge selection of reading material and unique gifts.

You can always count on a good meal from Tonia's Cafe, one of the town's tried-and-true eateries.

There aren't many restaurants in town, and luckily, this one never disappoints.

And for a dose of local culture, head to Pataha Flour Mills.

Once one of five water-powered flour mills in Garfield County, this historic spot is now an event venue that has weekly church services and an onsite eatery.

The Queen Anne style courthouse is also on the National Register of Historic Places, and it only adds to the city's charms.

Pomeroy really is delightful.

Washington is full of these hidden gems with plenty of character. Here are a few you've probably never heard of.
