Enjoy A One-Of-A-Kind Dining Experience On This Beautiful Washington Island

Going to Bainbridge Island is a pretty magical experience all on its own. While it's just a short 35-minute ferry ride from Seattle, it truly feels like entering another (beautiful) world. And if you're lucky enough to be able to enjoy a meal at Restaurant Marche while you're there, you're lucky indeed.

You'll find Restaurant Marche at 150 Madrone Lane N, inside a historic midcentury building tucked away near the Bainbridge Island Farmers Market.

While the cuisine here definitely qualifies as fine dining, the ambiance is comfortable and casual, welcoming everyone on vacation on the island.

This restaurant was founded by celebrity chef and renowned author Greg Atkinson.

Greg Atkinson has a pretty impressive culinary resume. He was one of the earliest chefs to work directly with farmers to create the menus at Friday Harbor House, and he worked at Canlis in Seattle for several years, revolutionizing their stellar menu.

Needless to say, from the food to the wine, everything here is pretty impressive.

The lengthy wine list is all meant to pair well with the local cuisine.

Speaking of the cuisine... it's exquisite.

The menu consists almost entirely of fresh, local ingredients, so you'll see a lot of fresh seafood and produce.

Restaurant Marche is a French Bistro, so you can often enjoy things such as Moules-frites and steak frites here.

We're not sure who first had the good sense to pair fancy fare with fries, but we're eternally thankful.

The menu also includes some dishes from Chef Greg Atkinson’s various cookbooks.

Whatever you order, you definitely won't be disappointed.

The food here is exceptional, as is the fact that there truly isn't a bad seat in the dining room (or on the seasonal patio).

Whether you call Bainbridge Island home or you're just visiting for a day or two, trying the food here is a must.
