With a long stretch of summer days ahead, we’re fully prepared to take advantage of all that Virginia’s great outdoors have to offer. And that often means a healthy dose of very warm weather. Luckily, a trip to Virginia’s magnificent cavern system can offer the perfect tonic to Virginia’s infamous humidity. Chances are you’ve visited or at least heard of Luray caverns, but a trip during the summer offers a new world of appreciation. As soon as you step underground, you can enjoy the naturally cool temperatures of 54 degrees all while admiring these geological wonders.

No matter how hot it may feel above-ground, you'll experience a refreshing 54 degrees. And with humidity inside the cave, it feels more like 65 degrees. That's practically cool enough for a sweater!
