Spring has officially sprung! And there's nowhere more colorful to enjoy this fleeting season than Burnside Farm, which is hosting its annual Festival of Spring in late March to early April. It's one of the longest-running festivals of its kind in the state, having been a beloved tradition since 2012. With rows upon rows of gorgeous tulips to enjoy, you may feel as though you've been temporarily transported to Holland. The Festival of Spring is a true celebration of spring, and you won't want to miss your chance to visit Burnside Farms this year!
The spring season is short and sweet, and this local farm in Virginia embraces every minute of it. The festival lasts approximately three weeks, in correlation with the blooming tulips.
As you can see, it's truly a sight to behold. The farm has planted over 150 varieties of tulips, in all varieties and colors.
As you can imagine, the exact timing of the blooms is hard to predict, as it largely depends on weather patterns.
So what can you expect from attending this Virginia tulip festival? For starters, you'll want to wear comfortable clothes and shoes for walking around the farm!
You'll also have the chance to pick your own flowers!
Tulips are $1 per stem and daffodils are 2 for $1. Visitors should note that 5 stems are included in the price of an admission ticket and if you want to keep the bulb it is an additional $1.
The Festival of Spring is very much a family-friendly event. There are lots of games and activities for the little ones to enjoy, and they're included with admission.
