There is an old saying that goes: The town is so small, if you blink you might miss it. Well, keep your eyes open because you’re not going to want to miss Guildhall, Vermont. This tiny town has an estimated 255 people, just 100 more people than recorded in 1790. Let’s check out a few of the things that makes Guildhall such a special part of the Northeast Kingdom.

Guildhall is the only town in the world with the name Guildhall.

The town is named after the meeting house in the town center called the Guildhall.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 32.7 square miles.

This may not look like your typical jail, but old postcards confirm that this building which is located very close to the courthouse was indeed the former jail. Technically, it’s the old jailer's house with the jail attached. The office and jail entrance is the door to the far right. There is brick, iron and stone, though it is hard to tell with the clapboards.

A tiny elementary school in northeastern Vermont, it is sadly scheduled to close as it faces declining enrollment and rising per-pupil costs. The Guildhall Elementary school currently has 20 children enrolled this school year.
