It’s Impossible Not To Love The Most Eccentric Town In Vermont

Tucked away in the Northeast Kingdom is a little town that is as beautiful as it is peculiar. The town of Glover has less than 1,000 residents but if you’re looking to find an unusual place to make you smile, this eccentric town in VT is worth the trip. After all, where else can you see museums with giant puppets, moose in post offices and churches and cemeteries that have an unconventional twist. Let’s take a look at this quirky town in Orleans County.

Take the old country roads for a beautiful drive to the little town of Glover.

Fields of wildflowers and mountain views await. But that's not all...

After passing homes with unique yard art, you'll find a few unexpected places.

Such as the Museum of Everyday Life.

This self service museum showcases things you see every day, such as safety pins, toothbrushes and dust. Yes, dust.

Further into town you'll pass some beautiful old churches.

And even a cathedral. The Papier Mache Cathedral!

That's right, life-sized puppets made of various materials are displayed in the 100+ year old barn at the Bread and Puppet Museum.

For decades the puppets have been used in parades, performances and more.

And people come from all over to see the shows.

You'll never see anything like it anywhere else!

Be on the lookout for some lively transportation, too.

Or wander into a bus to check out the art.

You won't find a typical graveyard at the Bread and Puppet theater, though.

But you will find a puppet cemetery.
