Wake Up Early To See The Waterfall On The Bell's Canyon Trail In Utah

The trails along Utah’s Wasatch Front can get pretty crowded on summer weekends. That shouldn’t surprise anyone – they’re very close to the city, and certainly no secret. Just because everyone else in the Beehive State knows about these beautiful paths into the wilderness doesn’t mean that you should avoid them. The best way to enjoy a quiet hike is to wake up nice and early. Check out the Bell’s Canyon trail to find a pretty waterfall:

To reach the Bell's Canyon Waterfall, start at the Boulders Trailhead. You'll find it right off Wasatch Boulevard in Sandy.
...much of it is sun exposed as you make your way along the switchbacks that criss-cross the mountain. On a hot, summer day you'll want to make sure to have a hat and some sunscreen.
After just a little more than a half mile, you'll reach the Bell's Canyon Reservoir, which is a nice place to stop for a little break. This canyon and its two reservoirs are a watershed area, so your dogs aren't allowed to join you on this hike.
You can hike right to the base of the falls, but take care not to slip on the wet rocks. From here, you can continue along the steep hiking path to the second reservoir higher up, or just head back the way you came.
As always, please remember to practice the Leave No Trace principles. Carry out any trash you bring in with you, stay on the trail, and be mindful of others around you. Though this trail can be crowded, there's no reason we can't all enjoy it!
