Take this Wisconsin waterfall loop to Marinette County. A Wisconsin waterfall tour in the state's Waterfall Capital is unforgettable.

Regardless of what you’ve heard, chasing waterfalls is a great way to spend a day—and the Wisconsin waterfall loop in the state's "Waterfall Capital," Marinette County, is the perfect place to satisfy your search for falls. The county’s waterfalls are in such close proximity that you can easily visit several waterfalls in just one day’s time. Even better, most are only a short trek away. So, gas up the car, grab your camera, and prepare to fall for America's Dairyland again on this waterfall tour to some of the best waterfalls in Wisconsin.

At 102 miles, this waterfall loop in Wisconsin can be completed in about 2.5 hours. Of course, that doesn’t account for the time you’ll spend at each waterfall. And while there are five main waterfalls on this route, you’ll actually get to see several more if you'd like since many have more minor falls nearby.

1. Veteran’s Falls - Crivitz

Start your trip with a visit to Veteran’s Memorial Park in the village of Crivitz, where you’ll find not one, not two, but three waterfalls along what's one of the best waterfall hikes in Wisconsin. A bridge offers great views of Veteran’s Falls from above, and the other two smaller waterfalls can be reached via a well-marked path in the park.

2. Strong Falls - Athelstane

Located in the lovely Goodman Park, Strong Falls can be easily reached after just a short trek from the parking lot. And like Veteran’s Falls, a bridge over the waterfall offers the perfect vantage point for its beauty. If you prefer to spend the night in Goodman Park, there is a campground that's open between May 1 and November 30.

3. Lost Creek Falls - Cornucopia

Right in the woods just south of Cornucopia, Lost Creek Falls is one of Bayfield County's quieter rewards. The main drop is an 8-foot plunge with cascades above and below, and one of its best features is something most Lake Superior waterfalls can't offer: you can walk right behind it. The trail to get there is around 3 miles round trip, well-marked, and improved with boardwalks, so it's doable for most hikers. Wild blackberries, thimbleberries, and raspberries line the path in season, making the walk to the falls just as worth it as the destination itself. Access the trailhead from Trail Drive off County Highway C.

4. Long Slide Falls - Niagara

Cascading 50 feet through large rock formations, Long Slide Falls is commonly referred to as one of the most impressive waterfalls in the Lake Michigan Watershed. Climbing on the rocks will afford you varying views of the waterfall, each as stunning as the next. Long Slide Falls is located about four miles past Morgan Park—just keep your eyes peeled for the signs. After checking out Long Slide Falls, head about half a mile northwest to the nearby Smalley Falls.

5. Dave’s Falls - Amberg

A typical waterfall in Marinette County, Dave’s Falls in Dave's Falls County Park, boasts lower falls that feature a narrow chute with a 10-foot drop and upper falls, which are broader and about six feet high. Though not as large as some of the other impressive and beautiful waterfalls on this list, Dave’s Falls is no less impressive. Another plus is that the surrounding rocks make it easy to get close to the falls and splash in their refreshing waters, a perfect summer day activity!
